Dior is one of the most notable names in the fashion world. So much so to where, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the brand generated 5.2 billion euros that year. Dior is known for its extravagant fashion, bags, perfume, and more. But they’re also well-regarded for their cosmetics.
Of all the Dior makeup line items, their lip glosses are some of the most overlooked. Their lip glosses are classic yet incredibly high-quality, more so than many brands. Are you interested in buying Dior lip gloss? We’ll break down the Dior Lip gloss options tip and the different looks you can do with them.
What Makes Dior Lip Glosses Great?
Dior is a prestigious brand, so you get quality when buying Dior lip glosses. But there are also high-quality lip glosses out there, and many of them are more affordable. What makes Dior’s lip glosses worth it?
First, you’ll get serious hydration no matter your lip gloss. This is even true when you use the Maximizer Plumping Gloss. If you love that buttery, no-sticking feeling, then the Dior lip glosses are the ones you should choose.
Ideal for Daily Wear
Even if you choose pigmented lip gloss, these products are great for daily wear. The sheer pigments have a natural look, and the pigmented glosses provide just enough color to make your lips pop, but it isn’t overwhelming.
Do you hate the sticky texture of lip gloss? Me too. The Dior glosses are popular because they don’t have a tacky surface.
Instead, your lips have the nourished feeling you get with a balm. Rather than stickiness, your lips will have a beautiful sheen lasting for hours. It’s unlike anything else you will experience with a gloss.
As stated, the lip glosses have a subtle sheen finish lasting for hours. This is ideal for lip gloss enthusiasts and those who wear masks daily.
When You Shouldn’t Choose Dior Glosses
Dior glosses are some of the best, but they could be better for some. Here are signs that these glosses won’t work for you, and you can refer to the alternatives at the end of this article.
Do you Want Serious Lip Plumping?
This goes for the Maximizer Plumping Gloss. The hyaluronic acid and sheen will make your lips look fuller, but it won’t be a massive difference.
This lip gloss is perfect if you only want a subtle plump. But if you want that swollen severe lip look (at least that’s what I call it), then it’s best to choose a gloss infused with collagen and other plumping ingredients.
I’m not too fond of that swollen lip look, and stay away from most lip plumpers. The Buxom lip glosses have been my HG because they give a subtle plumpness with mint extract. I may try the Dior ones as an alternative.
You Hate Fragrance
Some of the Dior lip glosses are infused with mint and other extracts/oils, giving these glosses a scent. I don’t mind a little fragrance, but this is something to consider if you’re sensitive to smells.
The applicator on these glosses is small. That’s fine for me because I love precision, though I know others hate small applicators.
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss
Can’t resist lip plumper? Then you’ll have to check out the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss. I love this gloss because it gives your lips impressive plumping action and all-day hydration. So many lip plumpers dry out your lips, and finding one that works yet offers moisture is problematic.
The gloss is formulated with hyaluronic acid, moisturizing lips and locking in hydration. While I can’t find precisely what plumps the lips, the Dior website says it produces a plumping effect upon application. One thing to remember is hyaluronic acid is also used for lip fillers, so many of these ingredients have lip-plumping capabilities. The Dior website also says the gloss has a minty scent, and mint can also plump your lips.
Either way, this is a lovely lip gloss and is available in multiple shades. You can choose a light neutral pink or a pigmented, luminous shade like bronze. This lip gloss is ideal for wearing on its own and under or over lipstick to give your lips extra plumpness.
Dior Lip Glow Oil
You’ll love the Dior Lip Glow Oil if you want serious hydration. This oil is very glossy yet not sticky or greasy. You’ll love the way it feels on your lips. This gloss is formulated with cherry oil extract, which protects your lips and prevents them from being chapped.
This oil also offers a slight hint of color. While fewer shade options exist than their other lip glosses, they provide extensive shades. You can find a sheer tint to dark mahogany. No matter which color you choose, the result is a very luminous color you can wear daily.
You can wear the oil alone and a lip primer or over lipstick for an extra glow.
Dior Addict Stellar Gloss
Dior Addict Stellar Gloss offers the hydration of a lip balm with the perfect shine of a gloss. What I love about this gloss is the variety of shades available. You have many options, from brilliant fuchsia to light browns and neutrals.
